A charming rural community just 120 km South-East from Melbourne, Korumburra is a 90 minute drive in the scenic rolling foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges in South Gippsland.
Korumburra’s location, character, size, and closeness to Melbourne makes it an attractive place to visit and live. Korumburra is a comparable distance from central Melbourne as is Daylesford, Kyneton, Castlemaine and Lorne; and shares the idyllic local attributes of these well-known centres.
While the town had its origins in energy and building supplies for Melbourne’s early days, today it is largely supported by agricultural industries – dairy, beef, and snow peas.
The shopping precinct is largely along Commercial Street – the main thoroughfare through town. More shops are along adjoining Bridge Street and Mine Road, and the local supermarket is on South Railway Crescent.
