FOR SALE

Published: 27 April, 2022 · Last Updated: 27 April, 2022

Drums for Sale

Here’s an opportunity to own a bespoke Southern Lights, light drum. These unique, one of a kind drums designed by Jason Parmington have been previously displayed in Commercial St Korumburra.

We have been in discussions with the SGSC and are confident we will be able to have a permanent display in the future. We do however have 13 drums in total and have made the decision to sell 2 to raise funds for our much anticipated Southern Lights Festival in 2023.

We are only considering offers over $1,000 each.

These drums are advertised on various platforms, so please direct any serious offers as a DM or email kba.secretary3950@gmail.com.

Bendigo Bank Update

Published: 27 April, 2021 · Last Updated: 27 April, 2021

bendigo bank logo

As you would be aware the Korumburra Business Association & Korumburra Round Table are working hard to save the Bendigo Bank from closing on May 14.

Yesterday we received notification and the same information has been circulated in the community by the Bendigo Bank via a media release, that the Bank would not be closing on May 14 while they are willing to investigate options for an ongoing physical presence in Korumburra.

This statement is misleading!

Since that message was released, the state manager, Justine Minne, informed us over the phone that the branch in its present form will be closing in 3 months, even if the community gets behind it and switches their accounts over. What is on offer is some other kind of “physical presence” in the town. At this stage we do not know what form that will take until we have further meetings with bank management next week.

We suggest that you hold off transferring any banking to Bendigo until we get clarity, as we don’t want our business community and the general community transferring their banking, only to find that they still leave us with inadequate banking services in 3 months time.

We will keep you informed as discussion progresses.

Korumburra Baptist Church update – Dec 2020

Published: 17 December, 2020 · Last Updated: 17 December, 2020

This has been an unusual year in many ways.  We have had to do and learn new things.  But amid all the uncertainty and changes, some things have remained constant.

God, who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, has proved to be a rock and a refuge, sustaining us day by day and enabling us to remain calm and hopeful.  We have had to learn to worship online and find new ways to care for each other.  Our faith has given us strength. If you need any support please contact us.

Now we have reached a point where some activities can resume with all the appropriate COVID Safe measures in place.  Our worship services will continue online, however we will now be able to broadcast from the church building with a small congregation.  If you would like to access our service online or book in to be part of the congregation at one of our services, please contact me.

Christmas image

Christmas is coming.  We hope to celebrate with an outdoor service on the lawn beside the church on Sunday Dec. 20th at 10.30pm.  If the weather is unsuitable we will be online.

There will be a free Christmas Day Picnic Lunch at Coleman Park at midday, sponsored by the churches in Korumburra.

Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus.  His birth clearly shows God’s love and commitment to people everywhere.  Jesus was willing to live a lowly human life of service and sacrifice on behalf of others.  Christmas is a time to remember that God loves you and wants you to know the peace and joy of loving him.  You might not feel loved or lovely but our sins can be forgiven and new life granted in Jesus’ name.
