Friends of Korumburra Botanic Park AGM - 19 Sep 2023

It has been a very successful and productive 2022/23 for the relatively new Friends of Korumburra Botanic Park. With 27 members at last count and much to do there is an excciting future ahead for this group.

This year we:

  • Joined South Gippsland Landcare as a Group Member
  • Completed SGSC msall grant, extensive planting and weeding
  • Some new trees planted
  • Olsen walk cleanup started

Next up we are doing:

  • Creating a 5 years streategic plan
  • First people information board
  • Refurbishment of the Coronation Tree plaque.
  • National Eucalyptus Day in March 2024
  • Further works in Olsens Walk to control weeds
  • Funding is sought to to build an understorey and slow weed growth.
  • Increased publicity through our Facebook site and also setting up a website to further promote FOKBP.
  • Updating the Tree Map of the Park in a digital form.

Although only members can vote at the AGM, we would encourage our volunteers to attend and even join the Association. (Forms will be available) At the end of the formal AGM there will be time for a discussion of the Association's goals in relation to our evolving 5 year Strategy Plan.
