Historical Society

The Korumburra & District Historical Society (K&DHS) began in 1967, and is an organisation dedicated to preserving and collecting historical information or items related to the area. We have an extensive collection of books, photos, maps, newspapers and memorabilia, as well as many files of information stored digitally, such as local cemetery records.

Our Society often has requests from people whose families lived in the area in the early days, wanting to know if we have any records documenting anything about their ancestors, where they lived, worked, went to school or church.

At the K&DHS AGM in November we gained some new Committee members.
Along with keeping Bob Newton as President, we also have Dennis Conn as Vice President, Janet Wilson back on board as Secretary, and Barbara Burton as Treasurer.

We have settled in well to the Hub, and have enjoyed having many visitors to check out our room since the grand opening.
We are open to the public on Tuesday afternoons from 1.30-4pm each week, and at other times as well when committee members are available to open up. Contact us via email or messenger on the Facebook page, if Tuesdays are difficult for you and we can arrange another time.

Our monthly meeting is the first Thursday of the month at 7pm, except in winter when meetings are at 1pm. January we have a well deserved break.
