The 150th Poowong Anniversary Committee has made considerable progress in striving for a successful weekend of events. To enhance the plans already in place we are encouraging groups, clubs, businesses and individuals to arrange their own activity for the weekend.

The Poowong 150th Anniversary Committee is eager to invite as many past, present and future residents as possible to join in our celebrations. We need your help to spread the word!

• Friday night dance in Poowong Public Hall ‘Silhouettes’ live band.

• Saturday Football and Netball home matches against Nyora.

• Saturday Evening. BYO Basket Tea in Public Hall (Table Bookings essential).

• Children’s activities.

• 150 Anniversary Cake Cutting.

• Book Launch of ‘Since We Were a Century 150 Years’ at Poowong Hall

• The launch of the reformatted ‘Since We Were a Century 125 years’ returning by popular demand.

Facilities open to visitors at various times include:

• the School

• Fire Brigade,

• Library,

• Kindergarten,

• Hotel Live Music Sunday,

• All Saints Anglican Church and Community Garden,

• Uniting Church

• the Historic Pioneer Chapel.

Displays of historic farm machinery around Pioneer Chapel plus photos and historic items inside, Photos in Public Hall and Uniting Church. Historic and current Landcare projects at Fire Brigade.

• Sunday Ecumenical Church Service in Public Hall 10am.

• Sunday afternoon Informal gathering place to meet friends in Public Hall.
