A Birthday at the Park is here and we think the line up of history, heritage and entertainment on the day will blow your socks off!!
It’s Coal Creek’s 50th Birthday, and we are going to celebrate the Park in style by bringing it to heritage life like it was in its heyday, and throwing a full festival of events into the mix for good measure.
We are going to salute the park, the buildings, the collections and the people that have made Coal Creek the unique and wonderful attraction that it is.
There will be –
Heritage displays, demonstrations and tours – blacksmithing, spinners, shoemakers, wheelwrights and more
Silent Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton films with a live jazz band doing the soundtrack in the Mechanics Institute
Heritage and horse and cart rides
Celebrity croquet
Magicians, Mr Marvel, Face painting and roving entertainment
Endless tea party (lunch and afternoon tea boxes available at additional cost) hosted by the Mad Hatter
Alice and the White Rabbit escaping from the Queen to find the Lost Time
One of our diesel trains out of the sidings and on display, showcasing our continuing rail works.
INCREDIBLE live music throughout the day and into the evening – Shouse, Cool Out Sun, Harry Hook, Sand Brothers, Killa Klam Jam, Simplefolk, and Jenny Taylor
Turning Points, an exhibition with amazing highlights from the collection and archives of Fifty Years of Coal Creek.
