Arawata & surrounding communities local roads survey

Arawata and surrounding communities local roads survey

For the second year running the Arawata Community Hall Association has initiated a local roads survey to canvas drivers views of the Arawata and surrounding  areas of Fairbank, Ruby, Kardella, and Wild Dog Valley road conditions.

The community local roads survey was commenced in 2023 following concerns raised by members of our community.

Our region’s population in recent years has expanded, and so too has the use of this areas local transport routes. By utilising the survey results in collaborative discussions with South Gippsland Shire Council, the following improvements were made during the past 12 months:

  • upgrade of Fairbank-Kardella Rd intersection;

  • bus route signs introduced; dangerous bend vegetation clearing;

  • road signs for sharp bends; new stop and give-way signs installed; and

  • some needed maintenance such as roadside vegetation and drainage.

Your voluntary participation in the survey is anonymous, and you can access the survey directly at the following link:

The survey will be open and available for completion until the closing date of Tuesday 30th July.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could spend a few minutes completing this short survey, and play your part to contribute to our data gathering on this important issue for the local community.

Thank you in advance for your participation,
