Jenny pictures a new life

After nearly three decades of servicing Korumburra and the surrounding area with her picture framing business, Jenny Rowe has a new picture in her mind.

Jenny will be closing her business at the top of the main street this month to retire, and enjoy more time with her family and friends.

There have already been some tributes to Jenny on Facebook but Korumburra Staying Strong also wanted to check in about her decision.

“Well, after 28 years it’s time for the next adventure,” said Jenny.

“I worked five years from home and then twenty -three years in the business where I started it fresh.

“I was a cake decorator. I used to make all the homemade flowers and bridge work in that time. And I wanted something that people didn't cut up. I'm very arty crafty so I always loved that. I love turning printing to something that people are proud to hang on their walls.”

Ever smiling and always friendly, Jenny said her years in Korumburra taught her about resilience both in business and in life.

“We've certainly had our ups and downs in business areas and industrial areas, but I love the fact that we're getting young ones in to promote Korumburra and keep business going,” she said.

“The people of Korumburra have been very supportive and I do get a lot of people from out of the areas, surrounding areas. I've had works into Queensland, Western Australia, England, so that's a bit of a privilege as well.”

When asked about her views on the strengths of doing business in our little town, Jenny said: “I think it's about connecting with people and a lot of the people that are moving to the area love to support the local businesses so that we have a good strong Korumburra.

“I'm very, very appreciative of all the people that have supported my business over the last twenty -eight years. They're not just a customer, they're also friends, and I thoroughly enjoyed servicing the area with my picture framing.”
