Korumburra Streetscape project

Construction of a new streetscape in Korumburra will be commencing soon.

The works will help to improve pedestrian and driver movement, increase visual appeal and improve functionality. The renewal of Korumburra’s CBD will promote positive community connection and economic growth.

The works will take place on parts of Commercial Street, Bridge Street and Radovick Street and will include:

·       Replacing brick paved footpaths with concrete footpaths;

·       Change Commercial Street to a single lane of traffic in each direction;

·       Parallel parking will be retained with improved protection from through traffic by the inclusion of a

maneuvering lane;

·       Replacing public utility pits and pit lids to suit the design of the new footpaths;

·       Constructing kerbs and kerb extensions, and new garden beds;

·       Installing new street furniture and public amenities such as seating and litter bins, and

·       Adjusting street lights and pedestrian signals to suit the new works.

The works will commence during February 2024 and be staggered throughout 2024. The project will be undertaken by local contractor BJ’s Earthmoving and managed by Council. The project’s budget is $3 million, funded by Council and through a low interest loan from the Victorian Government’s Community Infrastructure Loan Scheme.
